Lush baths that I've tried




Northern Lights

It turns the water a magenta color (much like the actual color of the bar) with a few spurts of blue and yellow from inside the bar.
Smells very fragrant, I would describe it as very flowery. There's barely any bubbles.
Please note, it won't stain your tub as long as you wash it off very well. I could see some potential pink residue around the edges but I rinsed it right away.

Christmas Eve

Turns the water green because the yellow and the blue mix. Creates some bubbles but not as much as the Christmas Hedgehog one. Smells the same as Northern Lights. Imagine mixing those two together. It would create a pink&green mix (brown?) and some bubbles. That sounds fun right?

Christmas Hedgehog
The blue rubs off at finger temperature. It needs to be crumbled under running water. The water turns a little bit blue and it creates a lot of bubbles.
Easy to make bubbles but the bubbles disappear really quickly. The smell is a really light flowery and nature-y smell, I would describe it as being in the forest and there's wood and just one bush of flowers that you can kinda smell a little bit when you're far away from it.

Sparkly Pumpkin
Turns the water a light orangish-yellow color almost golden. You have to break it under running water to create bubbles. The bubbles don't disappear very quickly which I'm really happy about. Lots of sparkles!
This is actually perfect for me because I like light scents. It smelled like fruits or something I couldn't place.

Today was a pretty great day. I know I probably say that a lot but it really was. I think today is the definition of family time. We went out around lunch time for some dimsum (total cliche but it's true). Afterwards, we went to the nearby Fry's to pick up some plug converters for my parents when they go to Paris. It was only fun because my brother actually interacted with me in a nice way as opposed to being a mean older brother like he usually is.
After we came home, we all just spent time in our rooms. I took a really nice nap! I woke up to go with my siblings and mom to go to the local equestrian center with Allister and romp around. It was great exercise and fun family time.
I guess that's pretty much it but I really enjoyed it since it's been almost a year since our whole family was last together.

Since moving out of my house for college, I've had two sets of roommates and well...I didn't quite get along with them. Here are some of the things that they've done that annoy me:
-They always wash their clothes at 7 or 8 in the morning and that wakes me up. I've set rules for them to do it after 9 but some of them "forget"
-Same as the previous, they make so much noise in the morning. The kitchen is in direct hearing distance from my room and I can hear everything! Taking stuff from the fridge, putting stuff in the microwave (slamming the door), and even setting things on the counter!
-I don't really listen to music so hearing other people's music playing loudly at odd times of the day bothers me. Especially if I'm sleeping.
-Those that are staying in the bedroom next door to mine always seem to love showering in the middle of the night or very very early in the morning.
-Space! Since we're living with each other, we need to respect each other's space and not infringe on them. I have no idea why but my roommates always seem to put their stuff in my space. Just because I have less things doesn't mean I deserve less space!
 And the most annoyed I've ever been about this is the dish washers story. You have to watch the video to hear about it.
-Since I'm a neat freak, I really can't stand when people make a mess and don't clean it up. They always make a mess when eating and drip sauce or ingredients everywhere and don't even clean it up or seem to notice. I just want to.....grrrrrr

There is of course a myriad of other things but I can't list them all in this already long video.

Siblings

I am a middle child. I have an older brother and a younger sister.
My sister is two years younger than mean which means I didn't get to be the baby for too long. Especially since my cousin was born just two months after me in the same hospital. I do know that when we were babies, they always took care of me first because I cried the loudest.
I have memories of when my parents would let my sister choose first because she's the baby or my brother gets something first because he's the first born.

I Hate Driving

Living in LA are means driving everywhere! And I just hate it so much! I have serious, serious, serious road rage! If you do something stupid, I will yell at your fast moving car even though you can't hear me!
Some stuff about poetry:

I get mad when I’m walking on the street and someone in a car does something wrong. I get mad when I’m driving and someone in another car does something wrong. I get mad every time someone doesn't signal. I get mad every time I see someone on their phone while driving. I get mad every time someone honks their horn. I get mad every time someone cuts me off or is driving too slow. I get mad at a lot of things.

Traffic. Traffic sucks. We all know it. It's only passable when there's singable music. Or smart driving people. Yes, I said 80 miles per hour. * shame! *

Finals Week Vlog

So I recorded almost every day of my finals week and you could see my struggle the entire time. It gradually got better as I got closer to finishing. But boy I was always tired!

December 16: 

-7am waking up in the morning, gotta grab my cereal. No just kidding, It's 7am and my test is at 8. I am already dying.

-Law and Society final done! Pretty much going to collapse on my bed. It started raining after I finished the test and got some Starbucks. Going to nap and drink coffee at the same time and then study some Econ. Still blanking on what's going on in the world.

-2:45pm same day, feeling better after being snuggled up in bed. Open some advent calendar doors, heating some food. 

-Being random looking out the window

December 17:

-Finished econ final, it's 9:30pm. Test was 7pm. Ran a bath with the sparkly pumpkin bath bar thing from LUSH

-Going to Taco Bell wearing a bear hat. They didn't let me get food without a car. :(

December 18:

-9:30am finished the test! Heading home yay!!

I feel like I left out a bunch of video clips and I probably did. But hey I was dying when editing it together!

What I Do At Home

Why Don't I Record At Home?

So I don’t make videos when I’m at home because my parents often interrupt me. Back when I was doing vinylmation videos, there would be so many instances when my mom would yell for me and I would have to yell back “MOM I’m RECORDING!!” she didn't know what I was recording for but I eventually stopped doing that. I don’t know how I’d feel if my parents found out I've been making videos. I just casually say that I want a cool camera to use. They do know that I like to take pictures of everything but not that I've been recording stuff more lately.

One time, when I was trying to pull up a picture or video to show my sister, she saw my gallery with all the videos of my face on it. And she was just like “why are you recording yourself?” I’m so glad that my channel doesn't come up when you search my name. You have to be super specific and search “cattyliu816.” Okay I do put “Catherine Liu” as a tag in my video and all my posts but they still don’t show up unless you put “Catherine Liu Disney.” At least I’m grouped with Disney?

So what do I actually do when I’m at home? I usually just sit in bed all day in my homeostasis state and browse the internet for hours. I actually got a headache the other day from doing that because I had earphones in all day. My ear actually got that deaf feeling and it was super uncomfortable.
I’m also supposed to be studying which I rarely do. And I barely eat food so that’s not interesting either.
We go out to eat about once for food. But then that’s family time so I’m not going to record it.

Feeling way better now after that little panic attack I had. Cuddled with my Disney stuffies and drank some tea in bed. (This makes me sound like a forever alone....derp)
I have a feeling that this has happened before where my heart would beat really fast and I'd have to go outside for fresh air. Thank goodness it's a rainy week and the air is crisp outside so it helped. But my heart was still going very fast when I went back inside.

Current Status

December 14, 2014

So currently I am a college student, hoping to graduate in three months. I've been single for about 9 months and I have to say, not once have I wished that I had a boyfriend. (Except those nights where I'm really hungry and wish I could have someone bring me food. But anybody will do really. Or those nights when it's cold or I just watched something scary and need a body to comfort me. But that could be anybody I'm comfortable around.)
I think the only time in my life where I was seriously wanting a relationship was when I was in my first one (2012-2013.) It was my first relationship and I didn't want anything bad to happen to it. I mean, I hadn't had one until I turned 20. That's so many years of being forever alone!! I don't know if it was love or anything, we did say it to each other and it felt like it. But looking back I think it was just having someone to talk to every day and someone who actually went out of their way to see you whenever you wanted.
Another big thing is that at the time my best friend wasn't responding to my messages. She gets in these stages where everything overwhelms her so much that she doesn't contact anyone back. I know she still has her cousins, her parents, and her sister, but I feel like I need her to. Right now she's currently like that. She's probably texted me back twice in the last month. Which really depresses me. I actually had to text her boyfriend to ask how she is. Thankfully she made me get his number haha.
Back to the current topic: no boyfriend needed. I see online (I'm online a lot) that young people are always commenting stuff like "I'm 12 and I don't have a boyfriend yet!" or something else along those lines. I always feel compelled to say "I didn't get a relationship until I was almost 21 and I'm perfectly fine with it. Don't rush, it'll come when it's meant to." I feel like young people are trying to grow up too fast. Now that I'm 22 (I think I'm 22...right?) I just want to go back a few years and enjoy being a child some more. Maybe go back to elementary school and make some more friends. Or back to middle school and stop being such a b*ch to other people. Or maybe back to high school and stop being such a brat. And definitely back to now and tell myself to get off the internet to get some friends.
I have basically retreated back into myself at the moment. All I do is spend time on the internet whether it's thinking up video ideas and shooting them or it's writing blog posts, or even watching youtube videos. I barely reply to anyone, not that I get messages, and I barely reach out to people. My to-do list this winter break consists of making videos, watching tv shows movies and youtube videos I haven't watched yet, and going to Disneyland. That last one counts as human interactions right?
What was I talking about again? Oh yeah. I am currently single. I am happy and content with it. Mostly because I am at that age where I'm like, I don't really want to just "date," I want to find someone that I can settle down with. That current mindset is because of the timeline.
What is the timeline you say? First, you have to date for a few years to find out that you are compatible. And then you have to get engaged for at least a year to plan the wedding and live together to see if the other person is bearable. After you get married, you have to wait at least a year before trying to conceive because being married is a completely new thing and bringing a baby into it is just too much too fast. And then comes the baby. So that's......at least 3-4 years before the baby thing. And I'll be 26? Ahhhh so I basically have to meet someone now who will be lasting! That's why I'm not looking for someone to just date.
That sure took a turn didn't it? Well....I hope I got my point across.
My point was....don't rush into a relationship and be happy with yourself. Your time will come.
That's what I wanted to say right? Sure. Right!

Left Handers Unite!

This is amazing! So I called one of the departments at my school to ask them to provide left handed desks at the movie theater that I have a class in. They called me back just now to tell me that they will reach out to the theater (because they're partnered with the school but not actually part of the university.) And we might be able to start a thing to help provide left handed amenities for us.

I'm really excited about this because the number of lefties are rising and it would be so great if we could provide for the minority!

So I just received a voicemail from the woman I spoke to yesterday (Suzanne from disability services) and she said that when they remodeled the theatre back in 2011, they took out the desks that they had and replaced them with the cup holder slot makeshift desks that they have now. They had a bunch of people go in and test them but didn't have any complaints. She also said that they mentioned they have these boards (unclear, they didn't show her a picture) available as a source for a flat surface but since I have never seen them and it's been a few years, it may or may not even exist anymore. She also said that the molds for the current plastic cup holder things were only made for right handed usage. And that there's probably a lot of people also suffering in silence. Hopefully we can get something started for them to provide stuff for left handed people in the future. I told her I don't mind if they can't get something for me (and my fellow sufferers for this upcoming week) but I would like it if they could get the ball rolling for future students.

Please note that this video was shot outside my classroom in the cold rainy weather. I was trying to get the information out as quickly as possible so I didn't even think to bring a jacket out with me. Also, my laptop case was resting on a wet surface because that's the only eye level thing I could find at the moment. Ugh we suffer for our cause.

Trxye Review

These are my thoughts on Troye Sivan's EP 'Trxye'. I will continue adding to it as I have more thoughts.

I've never been one to listen to music because it's popular but I found Troye Sivan on YouTube and decided to save his Happy Little Pill song for later. Of course I listen to the song first before looking up lyrics. I want to get the real effects of the song and the sound.

Initial thoughts:

One night when I was having a difficult time staying awake at 3 in the morning, I played Happy Little Pill via his vevo for the very first time. I replayed it more than once that evening. I scrolled through the comments to see people's interpretation of it, I replayed it so I could focus on the music video, and a couple more times to listen to the lyrics. And since then, I have listened to that song about a hundred times. (Entirely using the Vevo.)

I have just bought the Trxye EP and of course I couldn't skip out on the first song. But when I got to the second song, Touch. My initial thought was that the ambiance was very similar to that of Happy Little Pill. But after getting through the whole song, it definitely had a different feel behind it.

The first note of Fun I'm already like "WOW" all the songs I've heard so far definitely have a connection between them. You can tell they are coming from the same artist. I have no idea what this song is about. Just that it says the word "boy" a lot and "fun." Definitely a more upbeat song, I can imagine him in the studio rocking out while recording it.

Gasoline first thought: SAD!!! There's one point in the song where the music goes really low and I thought my thing paused or the song ended so I turned it up higher. There was a wooosh and it started again. I don't think I want to set your heart on fire Troye

I have listened to The Fault In Our Stars on his Youtube page a couple of times. It has a very mellow tone and has a great sound. There's some parts that actually remind me of his "We're My OTP" song. 

Deeper thoughts:

1. Happy Little Pill: This was a great choice to be number one on the track. From what I've read, this song is about depression and how all these fancy things won't make you happy. In a way it is like Royals but only because it lists materialistic things. Has the word "cocaine" in it (Labeled as explicit) 

 Favorite verse: My happy little pill/Take me away   AND Buying happy from shopping carts.../Sipping life from bottles.../Cocaine, dollar bills

2. Touch: This song is slower and less poppy than Happy Little Pill. But it does have that same sound from HLP. I'm not sure how to describe it. It is definitely not the same song. After listening to the song a couple of times, I feel like the song is about intimacy (thus the title Touch duh). Not just that, but the excitement of the anticipation. Since it's a slow song, it does feel quite sad like the connection between the two people are not strong enough and there needs to be more of a trust. 

 Favorite verse: Standing in the eye of the storm/My eyes start to roll to the curl of your lips

3. Fun: The lyrics make me think "wtf" and this is like a stereotypical boys day out right? I've only heard this three times and I knew what song it was from the first few notes

4. Gasoline: These lyrics are so...depressing! It definitely makes me feel emotions. Has the F word in it (labeled as explicit)

5. The Fault In Our Stars: I really like this song. It gets you right in the feels

I definitely feel like I can tell what song it is from the opening line/beats. They did sound pretty similar at first listen. It's like when you hear a song on the radio and think it's one thing when it's actually another song that has the same intro

The Palms on University

This is my review for The Palms on University location in Riverside

First things first. You cannot pay me enough money to live here. You could probably pay me to destroy it. I might accept that.

Initial thoughts:
 When I first walked into the apartment, I turned around to my mother and said "mom do I have to live here?" The place was FILTHY. The floors looked like everyone walked in with their wet boots after a rain storm. The stove was greasy and so were all the cabinets. I spent an hour cleaning the 4 burners on the stove. I DON'T EVEN COOK!!

Some things that have been constant since the first day I moved in:
The lock on the main door of the building does not have a working lock. I asked the front office the first week that I started living there. They said that they have to order a custom lock so that all the residents don't need to get a new key (and that they already ordered it) but it would take a few weeks to make. It is now December and they still haven't gotten this new lock.
Secondly, the gate to the car park has not been closed since the day I moved in. Correction: I saw it closed one time in December. But it was open again when I returned

Other issues:
The only place to dump our trash is around the corner next to the Taco Bell. Thanks for providing proper facilities for us (sarcasm intended)
The previously mentioned unlocked door was RIPPED OFF IT'S HINGES. I returned and saw that the door was ajar, When I reached to close it, I noticed that all three hinges were no longer attached. The door was still standing there but it could no longer be used as a door.
One of the other buildings I visited doesn't even have a doorknob. Anyone can just stick their hand in the hole and open the door.

Management change; They changed management some time in December and everything became better. The gate into the parking garage is always locked and they fixed the main door into the building in the first full week of January. These were my main concerns.
