I Tried Spotify Premium for 3 Months

I had to cancel my Spotify Premium today so I thought I'd do a little review on it.

There was a great promotion for 3 months of Spotify Premium for just 99 cents for the summer season of 2016. Of course I jumped right on that! I'd like to say first off that I would totally keep the Premium subscription if my car had bluetooth connection. Unfortunately, my car is from 2004 which means if I had wanted bluetooth, I would have to buy a dongle thing and connect it to my car. My dad bought one for his car a few years back and I remember him saying it was expensive or something like it's not worth it to get more than one. That and I don't really drive anywhere far enough to enjoy music for long periods of time. It takes me 3 to 8 minutes to drive to work depending on the traffic lights of the one road I need to travel on.

 Perks of having Premium:
-Being able to skip to the good parts of a song. (But this is available on the desktop version)
-Being able to pick which song you want to play instead of shuffle play (also available on desktop)
-Saving songs into your phone for offline play
-Being able to see previous song played and next song played - this has to be my favorite feature

The only downside I saw was when I chose to downloaded one of the playlists I was following and it would constantly be downloading new songs because they kept adding new songs to it and changed the name of the playlist.

Final thoughts: If I had a car with bluetooth/aux cable and I drove a lot, I would definitely want to have premium (if it were cheap)

Being able to select time inside the song
Ability to download playlist

Nail Polish Review: Julep's Zelda

Nail Polish Review: Julep's Zelda #3282

Since I've been at school constantly for the past few months, I haven't really had time to paint my nails. But now that it's winter break, I thought I'd try a festive color I've never used before! This here is Zelda by Julep. The really great thing about Julep is that they can send you a box with two to three colors each month if you sign up for their Maven program. I feel like the price is not that bad and sometimes they include products such as cuticle oil or quick drying top coat! (Not sponsored, I just love it.) I would definitely sign up again some time soon!

[I would like to apologize in advance for how gross and wrinkly my hands look. I hadn't moisturized yet that morning because I jumped out of bed to record/capture some things for this blog.]

This color here (pictured left - click to enlarge) is a beautiful shimmery rosy-gold color. I have been using the technique of applying thin layers until opaque and it goes on so smooth. I also didn't use a top coat because I like to know how well a polish stands up to normal "wear-and-tear" so to say. That and I don't have a good one top coat. The ones that I do have either drags the color or makes it seem duller.

This here is after about a week of having it on with one touch-up in between because of how quickly my nails grow. There were barely any chips (as you can probably tell) and it was just the tips that would come off but nothing major or embarrassing.
Note: I have removed the polish since taking these pictures and in my opinion, this color is quite easy to remove (if you know how).

My method for removing polish is to cut strips of cotton and dip them into the remover. Dip and set them one by one on your nail - make sure it touches all the edges of the polish. By the time you get to the fifth finger, the first one will be ready. You can grab another cotton pad if you don't want to harm your hand, or you can just do it bare like I do: Just simply press down on the soaked pad and slide it off your nail. 99% of the polish should have come off in the process. To get the bits you missed after using this method, you can just use a cotton swab (q-tip) or cotton pad/bud dipped in remover for that final touch-up.

Make sure to always wash your hands and to moisturize after using polish remover because the chemicals will dry your skin!

Overall thoughts on the polish:
This color is great and very festive. Perfect for a party or get-together with friends. I certainly got quite a couple of compliments on it. It's one of those colors that people will definitely notice!

After finding the product on the website, I saw that it says it's a "pink champagne metallic," this means I was correct in thinking that the color looked quite rose gold-ish. My favorite color of gold!

Please note: I get no benefit from you signing up, I just want to 'share the wealth" of this cool program. I personally love subscription boxes that arrive in the mail once or twice a month.

Trxye Review

These are my thoughts on Troye Sivan's EP 'Trxye'. I will continue adding to it as I have more thoughts.

I've never been one to listen to music because it's popular but I found Troye Sivan on YouTube and decided to save his Happy Little Pill song for later. Of course I listen to the song first before looking up lyrics. I want to get the real effects of the song and the sound.
Initial thoughts:
One night when I was having a difficult time staying awake at 3 in the morning, I played Happy Little Pill via his vevo for the very first time. I replayed it more than once that evening. I scrolled through the comments to see people's interpretation of it, I replayed it so I could focus on the music video, and a couple more times to listen to the lyrics. And since then, I have listened to that song about a hundred times. (Entirely using the Vevo.)

I have just bought the Trxye EP and of course I couldn't skip out on the first song. But when I got to the second song, Touch. My initial thought was that the ambiance was very similar to that of Happy Little Pill. But after getting through the whole song, it definitely had a different feel behind it.

The first note of Fun I'm already like "WOW" all the songs I've heard so far definitely have a connection between them. You can tell they are coming from the same artist. I have no idea what this song is about. Just that it says the word "boy" a lot and "fun." Definitely a more upbeat song, I can imagine him in the studio rocking out while recording it.
Gasoline first thought: SAD!!! There's one point in the song where the music goes really low and I thought my thing paused or the song ended so I turned it up higher. There was a wooosh and it started again. I don't think I want to set your heart on fire Troye

I have listened to The Fault In Our Stars on his Youtube page a couple of times. It has a very mellow tone and has a great sound. There's some parts that actually remind me of his "We're My OTP" song.

Deeper thoughts:
1. Happy Little Pill: This was a great choice to be number one on the track. From what I've read, this song is about depression and how all these fancy things won't make you happy. In a way it is like Royals but only because it lists materialistic things. Has the word "cocaine" in it (Labeled as explicit)
Favorite verse: My happy little pill/Take me away   AND Buying happy from shopping carts.../Sipping life from bottles.../Cocaine, dollar bills

2. Touch: This song is slower and less poppy than Happy Little Pill. But it does have that same sound from HLP. I'm not sure how to describe it. It is definitely not the same song. After listening to the song a couple of times, I feel like the song is about intimacy (thus the title Touch duh). Not just that, but the excitement of the anticipation. Since it's a slow song, it does feel quite sad like the connection between the two people are not strong enough and there needs to be more of a trust.
Favorite verse: Standing in the eye of the storm/My eyes start to roll to the curl of your lips

Other songs pending review
3. Fun: The lyrics make me think "wtf" and this is like a stereotypical boys day out right? I've only heard this three times and I knew what song it was from the first few notes
4. Gasoline: These lyrics are so...depressing! It definitely makes me feel emotions. Has the F word in it (labeled as explicit)
5. The Fault In Our Stars: I really like this song. It gets you right in the feels

I definitely feel like I can tell what song it is from the opening line/beats. They did sound pretty similar at first listen. It's like when you hear a song on the radio and think it's one thing when it's actually another song that has the same intro
